If you're planning a ham for dinner, the sides are what really make the meal feel complete. This collection of gluten free side dishes for ham includes everything from cozy casseroles and roasted vegetables to classic comfort foods.

Ham has always been my favorite holiday main dish. My mom always makes me a ham for Thanksgiving because she knows I prefer it to turkey. As we all know, when it comes to big holiday dinners - the side dishes are where the magic really happens.

Whether you're cooking for a holiday meal or a simple Sunday dinner, the recipes below pair perfectly with ham. They're easy to make, full of flavor, and guaranteed to round out the table with something everyone will love.

What Side Dishes Go With Ham?

I look for something that can balance the saltiness of a baked ham, like gluten free mashed potatoes or even something on the sweeter side, like maple roasted carrots or sweet potato casserole.

And if you're having a honey baked ham, you may want to consider something to balance out the sweetness. Southern style cornbread or green beans and potatoes are both great options that don't add any sweetness to the meal.

In addition, ham generally pairs well with Dijon mustard so adding a hint of mustard to roasted vegetables or casseroles can make a great match! Another great pairing is honey, like in a honey baked ham. If you're serving a savory seasoned ham, considering adding a little honey to roasted carrots or cornbread for a hint of sweetness.
