Do you love chips and salsa as much as I do? It's the snack that you just can't stop snacking on. Salty tortilla chips paired with cherry tomato salsa is the perfect party food or side for your taco night. It's my favorite way to get in my daily vegetable allotment (LOL). This simple salsa is so easy to make and with my secret ingredient, it turns out smooth just like restaurant style salsa.
The summer months are the perfect time of year for fresh tomatoes. So grab that pile of cherry tomatoes from your garden and let's whip up some salsa. In fact, you might want to make a big batch so you can snack on it all week long!
This homemade salsa would be perfect to serve for a game day snack with your favorite tortilla chips or alongside my rotisserie chicken tacos or dutch oven carnitas for a complete Mexican meal at home!

Ingredient Notes
This restaurant-style salsa is so easy to make and uses just a handful of simple ingredients that are naturally gluten free.
- Fresh cherry tomatoes: If you have an abundance of cherry tomatoes, they are perfect for making salsa. Their naturally sweet flavor makes for a delicious salsa.
- Red onion: Feel free to substitute sweet onion, or yellow or white onions if you prefer. Even green onions would work!
- Garlic: I like to use fresh garlic cloves here. If you only have minced garlic on hand, you will want to add a little extra since the flavor is milder.
- Jalapeno Pepper: At my house we love spicy foods, so we usually add extra jalapenos. You can customize this recipe to your desired heat level.
- Lime Juice: I like fresh lime juice because it has a more vibrant flavor.
- Fresh cilantro: Cilantro really adds something to salsa. If you're not a fan of cilantro, you can add less or leave it out if you like.
- Kosher salt: Salt to your taste - I've given a base amount to start with.
- Diced tomatoes: A can of petite diced tomatoes is my secret ingredient. It gives the salsa a smooth restaurant-style texture while still keeping the recipe super simple.
