Oreo lovers, save this recipe! This delicious, creamy no bake Oreo pie is what Oreo dreams are made of.  It has quickly become one of my favorite desserts.

Start with a crunchy Oreo pie crust, fill it with an easy creamy filling plus more Oreos of course, and top it with whipped cream.  Pop it in the refrigerator and your work is done! The hardest part of this recipe is waiting for it to chill.  It's an irresistible Oreo dessert that you're going to love!

    Ingredient Notes

This easy dessert recipe uses just a handful of ingredients that can be found in any grocery store.  It is both gluten free and vegan as written.

Ingredients for an Oreo pie sitting on a marble counter.
    • Oreo Pie Crust - I always use my homemade Oreo pie crust recipe to make mine from scratch.  You can use your favorite recipe or your favorite store-bought Oreo pie crust.
    • Vegan Cream Cheese - I've used Miyokos Vegan Cream Cheese in this recipe because I prefer the flavor.  However, any vegan cream cheese will work fine here.  If you're not dairy free or vegan, you can use full-fat cream cheese in the same measure.
    • Vegan Whipped Cream - I've given instructions below for making whipped cream from scratch or using store-bought whipped cream.  For store-bought, my favorite vegan brand is CocoWhip whipped topping.  If you're not dairy free, substitute Cool Whip in the same measure.
    • Gluten Free Oreos - Oreo pie wouldn't be complete without tons of Oreos.  There are lots of gluten free cookies options, like name brand Oreos, Glutinos, Goodie Girl, Trader Joes Jo-Jos and more.  A package of gluten free Oreos contains 30 cookies, so you will need 1 ½ packs for this recipe.

See recipe card for full ingredient list and quantities.

    Substitutions & Variations

    • Not Dairy Free - use cream cheese and whipped cream in the same measure.
    • Mint Oreo Pie - Replace plain Oreos with the mint flavored version.  Add ½ teaspoon mint extract and a few drops of green food coloring to your pie filling to make it look minty too!

How to Make an Oreo Pie

This pie is so easy to make! The process is very similar to a no-bake cheesecake.  I do recommend using a hand mixer or a stand mixer to make things quicker.

Before you make your pie filling, prepare the Oreo pie crust and place it in the freezer.

Cream cheese in a large metal mixing bowl.

STEP 1: Add the cream cheese to a large bowl and beat it on medium speed until smooth.

Powdered sugar, vanilla and salt added to the cream cheese.

STEP 2: Add sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the cream cheese. Mix again until all of the dry ingredients are incorporated.

Whipped cream being folded into the cream cheese mixture.

STEP 3: Add whipped cream to the bowl with the cream cheese mixture and gently fold it together.  Take care not to deflate the whipped cream.

Chopped Oreo cookies being folded into the pie filling.

STEP 4: Gently fold in the chopped Oreo cookies.

Oreo pie filling being spread in an Oreo pie crust.

STEP 5: Spread the Oreo cream filling into an even layer in your chocolate crust.  Wrap with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, although I prefer overnight.

STEP 6: Immediately before serving, remove from the refrigerator and top with more whipped cream and chopped Oreos.

    Expert Tip

This pie is great make-ahead dessert.  You can store it in the refrigerator for several days before serving, if needed.  The cookies in the pie filling will soften over time making the pie easier to slice and serve.

    Storage

Store leftover pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I love using this pie storage container to keep the decoration on top of the pie from getting squished. The pie will be food for 5-6 days in the refrigerator.

    Recipe FAQs

    Are Oreo cookies gluten free?

Regular Oreos are not gluten free. Oreo brand does make a gluten free version of the product, which is widely available.

For gluten free cookies, you can also use Glutino Brand, Goody Girl Chocolate Cream Cookies or Trader Joes Gluten Free Joe Joes. They all taste just like original Oreos and will work fine for this crust.

    Are Oreo cookies vegan?

Name brand Oreos are vegan. They contain no animal products or dairy.
